Going Global

Hello all,
I was at a gathering of friends this evening for scrapbooking. Well they scrapbooked and I decided to make cards. I combined images from the new set Going Global with Traveler to create some lovely shabby vintage cards.

The focal point image in these two cards I stamped in stazon
and colored in with water color paints.

The next two cards I used vintage atlas pages for the background.

Simply Sketched Card

This little blue bird is a lovely reminder that spring is just around the corner. He is stamped in black and colored in with pencil. The stamp set is the retired Stampin' Up Simply Sketched. He is paired with a scrap of designer paper and the fern stamp from Butterfly Basics.

I love the texture of the gold floss as it mimics the grass that the bird is sitting on. The card is long and narrow. The base if 6" x 7" and is folded to make a 6" x 3.5" card. It fits in a standard letter envelope.

The full view of the card really shows the lovely effect and texture of the gold floss.

Vintage Drawer/Shelf

I have been putting completed journals in this shabby drawer.
It is the perfect size for two rows of journals.

A fun bicycle motif in bright spring colors.

Two Maryland Girls book journal. The patina on the book is lovely and is perfectly complimented by the hand dyed silk ribbons and eyelash yarn ties.

Now here is the fun part!
Not only can the drawer be used as a storage box
but it also doubles as a shelf.

I will be keeping my eye out for more vintage drawers.
These are going to be great for craft fair display.
I many even be convinced to sell one or two.

Here you can see the hangers ready to mount it to the wall.
The vintage salt shaker is waiting some book page flowers
and isn't she just the loveliest found ancestor?
