Shabby Vintage Steampunk Frame

Does everyone love Steampunk as much as I do? Let me know what your thoughts on Steampunk are. I will be having more frames to show you in the future. There are several in various stages of construction.

For this frame I started with one that had the paper already on it. I had put the black paper on with the intention of making a halloween frame but I set a stack of books on it to make sure the paper dried flat but the bottom phone book stuck to the paper and it ripped on the right side so I never finished the project.

For the Steampunk frame I played up the torn area and added cogs it rather looks as if the paper has been torn back to reveal the inner workings of some hidden device. I wanted to dress it up a bit to complement the feminine paper  so I added the lace and ribbon on the left and roses on the right. The clock face gives just the right bit of clean crisp contrast to set the roses off.  While keys and gears tied on to linen thread and attached with a vintage safety pin adds a finishing touch to the ribbon.

I am entering my frame in a challenge!!!!

ANYTHING BUT A CARD, and I do believe this qualifies.

Thrift Store Find

I want to share with all of you my most recent Thrift Store find. I spotted this beauty and really wanted it. I walked around looking at other things for the longest time and finally went back and got the price tag. I then wandered a bit more while I debated.  I finally went up and bought it. For $25 dollars I just couldn't pass it up.

It is a lovely burgundy leather wing chair. Now the only problem was it wouldn't fit into my car. The good gentleman who carried it out for me tried every which way, upside down and sideways.

I finally had to call Carrie and ask for HELP!!!! She dropped her scrub brush and raced to the rescue. Any excuse to stop scrubbing the floor.

Thanks Carrie for your help.

Bon Voyage

This card was created for a retirement party. The recipient was planning on doing a lot of traveling with her free time. So the party had the theme of Bon Voyage.

I used a variety of stamp sets:

Artistic Expressions
Clock Works
Daring Adventure
Postage Due
Traveler

The goal was to make the card look like a passport.
So the cover was done in Night of Navy with the Globe and Saying stamped in metallic gold ink and mounted on a brown card base.

The inside pages were Very Vanilla. The background elements were stamped in Pear Pizzaz, Pool Party, Strawberry Slush and Crumb cake. I used the same design on most of pages then added a larger image on the right page and a smaller image on the left all stamped in Early Espresso.

I hope you enjoyed seeing this card.
